I first created Diamond Sky Records a long time ago, before I really knew how to build a website and no idea how to create or customise an e-commerce store. A colleague at a previous job expressed the desire to own a website to sell his collection of vinyl records, I had no idea how to even begin, but liked the idea of giving it a go.
Not sure where to start, I went on holiday. While hanging about in the airport lounge I bought myself a copy of .Net magazine. On the accompanying CD was a free copy of Avactis shopping cart, which seemed to be the answer to everything. I promptly arrived back home and got it installed and figured out how to amend the PHP to make it do what my colleague wanted.
I have recently redesigned the site to bring it up to date and upgrade the version of Avactis. Despite this, the site will soon be rebuilt using Magento to allow for interesting new areas of the site, including a forum for worldwide record collectors to discuss their interests as well as purchase from the site.

This week I have been mostly using Photoshop, Fireworks, HTML, CSS and Avactis Shopping Cart Software
